This is a list of the people in my life.  In my old blog, there were a lot of times where I would say “my sister” or “my cousin” rather than call them by their actual names.  This way will makes things a lot easier for me, hahaha!  Look up these people if you care or are interested.  Blah, blah …

Whenever I talk about my sister or write about her, I will use her name, Anna, otherwise I address her by Annie.  Old habits die hard.  She’s materialistic, shallow, wasteful and preoccupied with her looks.  She’s also forgetful and extremely BOSSY.  She’s also the one everyone likes out of the two of us; she’s bubbly, happy and smiles all the time.  My sister and I have some similarities but I think we have more differences.  Despite her bad qualities, she’s very important in my life.  I consider her my link to my family because I can’t function properly around them without her.

(In my blog I don’t like to address my parents by what I call them (Mommy, Daddy).  Lol, it’s embarrassing, but they’ll be in here anyway!

Like my sister, my dad is a very outgoing person.  Most of my mom’s siblings adore my dad.  I can’t find the right English words to describe my dad but he’ll go to the ends of the earth to make my mom happy (which includes doing annoying favors for her older brothers).  My dad’s really easy going and laid back, but he also has a short temper and can blow up any second.  He has 6 older sisters and 2 younger brothers and he can speak Cantonese, English, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

Hmm, how to describe my mom?  In my story, she’s the … annoying one.  Hahaha, I don’t mean to be mean.  But if you’ve ever read Pride and Prejudice, she’s that mom.  My mom nags, lectures and worries too much.  She’s really determined, nosy, and likes to try and fix things that are not hers to be fixed. But even though she may come off as pushy, I know she means well and wants the best for her family.  She has 3 older brothers, 1 younger sister and 2 younger brothers.  She speaks Vietnamese and Cantonese.  She can understand and speak some English but not very well.  And apparently she can speak Mandarin with a Tawainese accent, lol!

Brian Nguyen
DOB: 05/14/1991
Relationship: Cousin

What about Brian?  First thing you need to know is that he LOVES to eat.  Lol, there’s more to him than that, but seriously, whenever Anna, Brian and I hang out, all we do is eat (because someone here is always hungry)!  Haha, but he reads my blog so I should say more nice things ;D.  Is there anything more to Brian than food?!?!?  Brian is in this high school drama phase ie problems with his parents, college and friends.  He’s also pretty fun to hang out with and constantly cracks stupid jokes.  He’ll laugh at anything.  All you have to do is start laughing and he’ll laugh along with you.  He’s probably only person who finds me and my sarcastic remarks funny.

Eric Nguyen
DOB: 05/09/1997
Relationship: Cousin

Eric, as you’ve guessed, is the younger brother of Brian.  He likes to eat even more than Brian, hahaha!  I think Eric asks really annoying questions.  Most teachers tell their students that there are no stupid questions but talk to Eric and you’ll think otherwise.  Lol, no, I’m probably the only one who thinks his questions are annoying.  Any other person would just answer the darn questions, it’s just me.

Eric: Hey, is that burger good?
Person: Yeah, it tastes pretty good.

Example of a convo with me.

Eric: Hey, is that burger good?
Me: No it’s gross, that’s why I’m eating it.

Vinson Phan
DOB: 05/01/2000
Relationship: Cousin

Vinson is one of my favorite younger cousins.  He was so adorable when he was younger.  He’s still pretty cute but not as much as when he was younger.  Anna and I always say that there is no other baby cousin who can beat how adorable Vinson was.  He was funny, obedient, and cute (yeah, I’ve said that a lot)!  He always threw away trash we gave to him, he hid behind his red blanket when he was sucking on his thumb, and he called Anna, Nana.  Whenever our family slept over at his house, his parents would lock the doors (so he wouldn’t escape, lol) and would peek underneath the door crack and when his dad opened the door, he’d come running out.  It was funny.  He also opened his mouth really wide when he gave people kisses, he stuffed food inside his cheeks like a squirrel and he got scared of Brian whenever he took off his glasses … because that’s really scary, haha.  But I think Vinson now is really aware of what other kids think about him and tries to fit in.  He’s still a good kid though.

Quintina Phan
DOB: 10/09/2004
Relationship: Cousin

She loves Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty and Anna.  She’s really girly and very picky.  She’s really cute most times but she starts to act weird when she speaks her gibberish English.  She also gets easily jealous (especially of Vinson’s younger sister … who stole my birthday, lol).

Tammy Phan
DOB:09/02/1990
Relationship: Cousin

Tammy was my all time favorite cousin EVER!  But nowadays, we don’t hang out as much and I don’t see her very often.  It makes me sad that we’re drifting apart.  I had always thought Tammy was a cool person.  Anna was jealous that I liked her so much when we were younger.  I feel bad that I don’t know her as well anymore.  She was such a fun and chill person.  She was really silly and funny when we were little, I think she’s more calm and cool now –> the hell with life attitude.  But there are moments where she’s still really funny like when we we’re playing Spoons.

Don Phan
DOB: 08/11/1988
Relationship: Cousin

Don is Tammy’s older brother.  Don was a jerk when we were younger but as he got older, he calmed down a lot, too.  Don plays a lot of computer games and is a Math and Physics whiz.  His attitude is pretty indifferent.  He’s the kind of person you can easily talk to.  He doesn’t judge or blab; he just listens.  In high school, I always talked to Don about my crush and problems I had –> haha, my depression days.  To sum it up, he’s a go with the flow kind of person.
